Exploring History at the Historic Dockyard!

On Thursday, our Year 5 and 6 children were lucky enough to visit Portsmouth Historic Dockyard as part of their history learning on the Mary Rose this half term - and what an amazing day it was!
The children threw themselves into a fantastic hands-on workshop, where they explored replica artefacts from the ship and discovered more about what life was like aboard the Mary Rose.
They also had the brilliant opportunity to dress up in Tudor clothing, bringing history to life in the most memorable way.
The excitement continued with a visit to the Mary Rose Museum, where the children experienced the immersive 4D cinema. It was a truly engaging experience that helped deepen their understanding and sparked plenty of curiosity and wonder.
We are incredibly proud of every child who took part. They represented the school brilliantly and showed our Light Years values throughout the trip.
Trips and visits are such an important part of our multi-sensory curriculum approach, helping to inspire awe, wonder and a real love of learning.
A huge thank you to our wonderful teachers, Kate, Lucy and Vicky, for organising such a purposeful and enjoyable trip.
